Here is how you can handle the most common dental emergencies:
- Toothache – Toothache can be caused by several conditions including gum disease, decay, or injury. Contact us if you experience any unusual toothache or discomfort.
- Trauma to mouth – Trauma to your mouth that results in damage to your teeth or gums should be seen by a dentist as soon as possible. If you experience any pain or discomfort as a result of trauma to your mouth, contact our office right away.
- Loose or knocked out tooth – A knocked-out tooth is one of the most serious dental emergencies. The most important thing you can do is to keep the tooth moist. If possible, keep it in milk until you can get into our office. If your tooth has been knocked out it may be able to be restored.
- Broken or cracked tooth – It is best if you seek dental care quickly if you have broken or cracked your tooth. Treatment can often be done in one session.
- Lost filling or crown – Although this is not a major dental emergency, you should still contact our office. Our staff will be able to create a treatment plan during your visit.
- Swelling or abscess – If you notice some swelling or abscess in your mouth, you must seek treatment immediately. Our staff can get to the underlying problem and remedy it for you.
- Incision & drainage – Patients who have recently had oral surgery may have problems with the incision or drainage. It is best to contact your surgeon or dentist so they can assess your situation.
Our staff is happy to answer any questions you have about our emergency dental care services or your treatment plan. We are committed to providing the best in customer care and comfort.
