Patients who feel they would like a little extra help during their visit can request Nitrous Oxide, also known as laughing gas.
This sedative agent is administered through a mask that fits over your mouth and nose. It does not put you to sleep but rather helps relax and calm you. You will still be able to hear and respond to our staff when you are using Nitrous Oxide. The effects of the medication wear off quickly after the mask is removed.
Our staff can also administer an oral sedative to help ease any anxiety you feel during your visit. These pills can be taken the night before your procedure to help you relax. They will not put you to sleep during the visit but they can significantly reduce your nervousness. The medication will make you feel sleepy so you will want to schedule a ride to and from our office.
