Lisa Reid, Certified Educator

Lisa Reid grew up in St. John’s, Newfoundland and now calls Burlington home. She is a certified teacher with the Ontario College of Teachers and has over 20 years of experience in education, including 15 years as the Department Head of Special Education at the secondary level. In this leadership role, she oversaw programming for more than 250 students annually and supported a team of 6 special education teachers (SERTs) and over 20 educational assistants (EAs).

Lisa holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Education from Lakehead University, with a focus on Indigenous Education. She brings extensive experience and additional training in supporting students with diverse learning profiles and needs, including those with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Anxiety, ADHD, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual Disabilities, and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, among others.

At Burlington PCS, Lisa offers Executive Functioning training under the supervision of Dr. Katie Hildyard, using research-based strategies tailored to the individual’s strengths and challenges. She also works closely with families following psychoeducational assessments, helping them navigate next steps and collaborate effectively with schools.

Lisa is passionate about building strong relationships and equipping students with the executive functioning skills they need to take ownership of their learning, build confidence, and thrive in all areas of life.
