Other Services
I offer other social work services such as case management, case consultation and supporting clients when navigating other community resources or educational institutions. Most of these services can be completed within our sessions together, costing no extra fee. They can also be substituted in place of a counselling session. If these others services are needed to help support you and better your situation, we can discuss & agree on the fee during our sessions together.
Insurance
As mentioned above, many insurance providers & employee assistance programs may cover the fees for counselling sessions. It is best to check with your provider prior to your first counselling session.
I have provided some potentially helpful questions you can ask your provider:
- Are counselling sessions covered with a master level, registered social worker?
- Can I self-refer? or do I need a physician’s referral?
- How much am I covered for?
- Is the coverage for a calendar year or fiscal year?
- Is there a maximum amount I can spend per session?
- Is there a deductible amount that I need to pay?
- Can the counsellor direct bill or do I need to submit a claim for reimbursement?
These are just some of the provider insurance plans that may cover my services:
- Blue Cross (direct billing available)
- Green Shield (direct billing available)
- Manulife
- Great West
- SunLife
- Student Health Plans through educational institutions
- GuardMe Insurance (CBU International Students)
I am an approved provider for:
- Non-Insured Health Benefits & Residential Schools Program (direct billing available)
- Veteran Affairs (direct billing available)
- Canadian Armed Forces (direct billing available)
- Interim Federal Health Benefits (direct billing available)
Payment & Policies
Current payment types accepted:
- E-transfer
- Credit Card
Payments must be made prior to session.
Cancellation & No Show Policy:
To respect all my clients, I ask that you immediately notify my office if you’re unable to make your appointment. If you need to reschedule an appointment, you are required to notify me at least 24 business hours in advance (e.g. Monday appointments must be cancelled by 5:00PM on Friday). This policy gives me the opportunity to serve another client that may be waiting for counselling services.
If this policy is not followed as outlined, you will be charged the full fee for a missed appointment or late cancellation. Subsequent sessions will not be booked until the outstanding balance is paid on your file. Exceptions can be made for extenuating circumstances, but we must discuss this together. If you are sick or unable to travel, counselling sessions can be conducted via phone or video. Receipts for missed appointments will be labelled “missed appointments” and may not be covered by your insurance/EAP plan.
If you are more than 15 minutes late for an appointment, it may have to be rescheduled. Your appointment will still be billed for the scheduled hour.
