Anxiety

Anxiety is a state of heightened alert and worry that arises when the mind perceives a potential threat or uncertainty. It involves anticipatory fear, tension in the body, and attempts to prevent or control possible harm—even when the danger is unclear, distant, or unlikely.

At its core, anxiety is a protective response meant to keep us safe. It becomes a problem when it is persistent, excessive, or rigid, interfering with daily life, decision-making, relationships, or the ability to feel at ease.
