If you notice many wasps going into a small opening or hole, there will be a nest there even though you can’t see it. Wasps can make nests in many different places, such as trees, shrubs, man-made structures, landscaping features, and in the ground.
Yellow jacket wasps will swarm a tree and you may not find a nest. Often, this is because the tree has aphids which are excreting honeydew. This honeydew is what the yellow jackets are after. Placing wasp traps and treating the tree for aphids will get rid of the problem.
We strongly advise you not to, and to call us instead. We use personal protective gear and use commercial products to safely treat wasps. For a small fee, let a professional do the job and avoid a trip to the hospital.
