Yes, here in Calgary you must blow out the water from your sprinkler system before the hard frost comes. Water left in the irrigation system will freeze and expand, which will cause damage to the system over the winter and lead to costly repairs.
We typically start our services in Mid-September and go until late in October. We recommend booking your service early, because as you know, our weather can be quite temperamental and a cold snap can come at any time in the autumn. Don’t leave it to the last minute and risk damaging your sprinkler system!
We connect a large, tow-behind air compressor to your irrigation system. We then run the powerful machine until all the water has been removed and only air is coming out of the system.
No, no one needs to be home. As long as the water to the system (from inside the house) is turned off and your gates to access your backyard are left unlocked, we can perform the service.
